“The Image of the Journalist in Popular Culture” is a WSCA Media Studies Interest Group (MSIG) panel chaired by Dr. Mary Lou Galician, Head of Media Analysis & Criticism, the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communications at Arizona State University, 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2004. Panel members include Saltzman (“Images and Icons From ‘The Image of the Journalist in Popular Culture (IJPC) Project.” Dr. Sammye Johnson, Professor and Carlos Augustus de Lozano Chair in Journalism, Department of Communication, Trinity University (“Women Journalists in Film and Novels”), and Dr. David Natharius, Professor Emeritus, California State University-Fresno and Adjunct Professor of Visual Communication at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communications at Arizona State University (“Images of the Combat Photojournalist: From Reality to Fantasy.”)
